Arthritis Home Remedies
Arthritis is one of the more common medical conditions and is characterized by the substantial inflammation of the joints in the body such as the knees and elbows – making them very hard to move around. The condition is usually also accompanied by a certain amount of pain when attempting to move the affected joints. The condition is medically classified as being a rheumatic disease because of the fact that most types of arthritis have very distinct and different features as well as treatment options. Apart from the joint pain and inflammation, the affected joints are also likely to experience significant stiffness, redness, warmth and tenderness.
Causes for Arthritis
There are a number of factors that influence the development of arthritis in the human body. Although age is considered to be the predominant cause, with the lubrication of the joints reducing as a person grows older, it naturally becomes much harder for an individual to move his or her joints as easily as when at a much younger age. However, other factors include weight, with the load that the limbs have to support contributing to joint damage; previous traumatic injuries to the area can make the smooth bone surface a little rough – causing significant trouble with regards to movement of the joints. Occupational hazards and high intensity sports involvement also contributes to the degeneration of ease of movement within the joints. Because of the fact that the condition is considered to be a rheumatic one, it is hard to identify the correct symptoms of arthritis because of the fact that different patients will usually experience a different set of symptoms. Some patients may even experience abnormalities of certain organs such as the heart, kidneys and lungs.
Home Remedies for Arthritis: Because of the fact that arthritis is such a common condition, there are a number of rather effective home remedies for arthritis that will help you control the condition as well as treat any sudden spikes in its intensity. For example, you could try mixing about ten parts of olive oil with a single part of sassafras, rosemary, juniper, thyme or lavender oil and massage the mixture over the arthritis affected joints to relieve the pain and reduce the inflammation. You could also grind about four peeled pieces of garlic along with two grams of Sprague. Once done, dip the mixture in about 30 grams of mustard oil and heat the concoction on a low flame for a couple of minutes before massaging the oil into the affected joints.
