I get tired soon even if I don’t do much work. Please suggest me some dietary tips which prevent fatigue.

People generally get tired if they fit in too many activities into their day or if they are drained out at work. But if you feel that you are getting tired without doing much, then you must see a doctor and get a blood test done to find out about your hemoglobin levels. Generally fatigue can happen because of iron deficiency in the blood; poor nutrition; or, dehydration.  If you’re not eating enough food or not eating a balanced diet, then chances are that the body is not getting all the nutrition that it should, so it gets exhausted with less work. Incorrect nutrition combined with stress and other lifestyle problems can also lead to a drop in hemoglobin. If you are dehydrated, then there is an imbalance in the electrolytes in the body, which makes you tired and week.

Diet Tips For Fighting Fatigue

Diet tips to prevent fatigue: There are several ways of fighting fatigue. Food will be your ammunition and you will have to pay attention to what you eat and how you eat.

  • You must eat a balanced diet every day. Your body must get nourished with the right nutrients. So include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and milk in your diet. Speak to a doctor or nutritionist, who can guide you through a meal plan.
  • Make sure that you are getting enough of vitamins and minerals. Apart from including a lot of leafy greens and fresh fruits and vegetables in your meals; you can also supplement this with vitamin tablets and capsules.
  • You must drink a lot of water every day and tank up on liquids like soups and fresh fruit juices. Reduce your intake of coffee, endless cups of tea and aerated beverages as caffeine can actually dehydrate you.
  • Eat small nutritious snacks through the day or eat small meals through the day to keep the nutrition level high.
  • Carry nutrition bars with you, when you’re out on work. Whenever you feel tired, munch one for that nutrition and shot of energy.
  • You must also include protein in your diet. Dried beans, lentils, legumes, soy, fish, nuts, dairy products, poultry, lean meat and eggs are an essential source of protein. Cook your meals with all these ingredients; combine them in casseroles along with vegetables; make stews and soups with veggies and lentils; make ‘one-pot meals’ with rice and beans. You can also stir-fry all these food products with a dash of sauce or sesame oil. Sandwiches, pastas and noodles with vegetables can also turn out to be a healthy meal.
  • Eat iron rich foods like spinach, beetroots and bitter gourd. Ask your doctor if you need iron supplements.
