Drink plenty of water; even having tender coconut water during this time is good. A good herbal home remedy is to take a glass of tender water coconut mixed with one teaspoon of fresh juice and honey. You can have this mixture at least two to three times a day. Having a glass of buttermilk is another good remedy. Rice is low in fiber and hence is easy to digest. A thick gruel of rice when mixed with buttermilk and a ripe banana proves great relief during such times.  Have warm water instead as this cleans the systems and thus will reduce swelling or inflammation. At these times it’s necessary to take rest and avoid stress or tension. During these days it is important to maintain a proper diet, it is better to have juices such as papaya, raw cabbage and carrot which will be beneficial; however any kind of citrus juice should be avoided.
