Home Remedy for Dog Bites

Dogs a man’s best friends as it is wisely said can sometimes be not very friendly. A dog could bite someone for various reasons; it all depends on the temperament of that dog.  While some dogs could be less aggressive than the other dogs it should always be caution of how a dog reacts to you. A dog could bite you when you disturb him while he is resting. Like for instance if he is if he is sleeping you snuggle him, this action could disturb him and he might bite.  When you rush to a dog quickly or too closely when the dog is afraid this is especially for family members or strangers who try to approach the owner or the home of the owner. There could also be times when the dog is scared and fears any kind of danger to himself may bite the person who approaches him. When the dog is going through any kind of suffering of pain or has injured himself avoid toughing him or going to close to him. When you kick him off beat him or even if you hold a stick in your hand indicating you are hammering him, he can retaliate in defense.

Treating Dog Bite

A dog bite or a scratch poses threat to infection for a human being and hence should be treated immediately especially if it is a stray dog. Most household pets are vaccinated and hence the risk of rabies is there only if you are bitten by a stray dog.  Always take a tetanus injection within 24 hours of being bitten. You should wash your wound immediately with soap and water. In order to fight infection take Vitamin C. Always visit a doctor in case it is a stray dog. Vitamin B also if take will help in producing antibodies that will help fight the germs. You could prepare a mixture of walnut; salt and onion grind this into a paste and then add honey. Apply this mixture on the wound as it will help heal faster. Garlic is considered to be a natural antibiotic, if this is consumed 3 to 4 times a day it will help the wound to heal faster. Do not cover the wound as this would take time to heal, always leave the wound open. Apply a little bit of turmeric powder on it would also help however this would pain a lot. Goldenseal tea is also another good antibiotic which if applied can help heal the wound faster.
