Aniseed when consumed by a person on an empty stomach can also prove to be very beneficial. Remember to eat plenty of fresh fruits and lots of green vegetables. Fruits like grapes and oranges are particularly helpful. Salads can be dressed with either olive oil or lemon juice and consumed. This is helpful in clearing up the eye and reducing the cataract. There are various nuts that contain vitamins, riboflavin and oils that are very good for the eyes. Some include nuts like walnuts, and pine nuts. Remember to avoid foods like pickles, bread both white and brown, potatoes, various beverages, especially soda drinks, and refined cereals.

Avoid eating any kind of tinned or processed foods. Abstaining from smoking and drinking is very helpful in this condition. Get plenty of fresh air but always remember to wear sunglasses when stepping out in to the sun light. Sunglasses help in protecting the eyes from the strong UV rays and helps to defusing the brightness of the light before it reaches one’s eyes. This prevents any eye strain that might occur.

Avoiding sitting in front of the computer or the television for too many hours as even this can put a lot of strain on the eyes. It is essential to rest and relax the eyes and the eye muscles as much as possible. Wash the eyes regularly with cool water. Drinking the juice of parsley is also considered to be very beneficial for the eyes.
