Weight Loss PillsWith the ever increasing number of people becoming conscious of how they look and the increased focus on living a healthier life, a lot of people who want to lose weight fast usually resort to using diet aids like weight loss pills and slimming pills.
These dietary supplements often extol their numerous benefits to those who use them and to those they want to encourage to use them. Are these weight loss pills really the way for a person to lose weight fast? What are the proven effects of these so-called slimming pills?
Some slimming pills say that they suppress the person's appetite or give the person a feeling of being full.
Other diet aids are said to suppress the absorption of fat in the body and secretes it along with the person's stool. One such dietary supplement that claims to absorb the fat that enters the body is chitosan.
Dietary pill manufacturers who use chitosan as their claim to weight loss efficacy say that chitosan has been proven to absorb fat deposits in the stomach and discharges the fat that the fatty foods a person eats without it being absorbed into the person's system. This still has to be proven significantly.
The manufacturers of diet aids that use chitosan in their pills say that you can lose weight by simply taking these pills before eating to make the pill absorb whatever fat you ingest, no matter how much you do eat. Findings do show that chitosan can indeed attract fat in a person's digestive system, but the amount of fat that pills with chitosan absorb is not that significant enough to make a person lose weight.
Weight loss pills can probably be used as a psychological enhancer for those who want to lose weight. Sometimes, when people use weight loss pills or slimming pills, in their desire to lose weight fast, they couple this with other weight loss activities.
The calories burned by these extra activities are usually the reasons why the people who take weight loss pills lose weight. Losing weight should be done with a combination of exercise, proper diet and a healthy lifestyle. Using dietary supplements and weight loss pills alone are not the solution to obesity no matter what some purveyors of these seemingly miraculous weight loss aids say. To lose weight and to keep it off can only be effectively done if a person has enough discipline and willpower to take the excess weight off and to keep it off, with or without dietary supplements.
