Alternative Treatment for Healthy Hair

Your daily diet makes a huge difference to the weight that you carry and the quality of hair. It's all about maintaining that perfect balance when it comes to optimum nourishment for healthy hair. According to trichologists, hair follicles are rapidly growing tissues and it has demands on your body just as any organ does. For healthy hair your body needs the right blend of protein, complex carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. But if you consume too little or too much of any particular element, especially certain vitamins and minerals, you may cause problems with hair growth.

When it comes to a certain type of food that packs a punch, it's tough to beat salmon.

Salmon is loaded with essential omega-3 fatty acids, which is a superior form of protein source filled with vitamin B-12 and iron. If you are vegetarian, you could try including a couple of tablespoonful of cold pressed flaxseed oil or consume flaxseeds in your daily diet as these are alternative plant-based omega-3 fatty acids.

Weight loss diets especially fad or crash diets can leave your hair unhealthy and cause hair loss. Maintain a low calorie diet but do not compromise on omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, or vitamin A as a lack of any of these vital nutrients can stunt hair growth and cause hair dullness, and even hair loss.
