Liquid Vitamins

It is a well known fact that vitamin and minerals are very important for the proper health and functioning of the human body. The best way in which you can ensure that your body gets the adequate amount of vitamins is by following a healthy and a nutritious diet. Unfortunately, in today’s world, most of us do not have the time to prepare and eat healthy meals and fast foods, junk foods and fried foods have become a common part of our daily diets. This not only leads to a high consumption of saturated fat, sugar, sodium and calories, but is also deprives the body of the essential vitamins and minerals. Therefore, people try to make up for the lack of vitamins, by adding a supplement to their diets.

People have the option of adding vitamin pills or tablets, as well as liquid vitamins to their diet.

Liquid Vitamins D, C, B12

The use of liquid vitamins and minerals has become very common in the last few years. The common liquid vitamins that are easily available at most health stores and pharmacies include Vitamin A, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C and Vitamin K. In fact, liquid vitamins claim to be a remarkable breakthrough in the field of nutrition. This is because the body takes a short while to start absorbing vitamins from a pill or a capsule; however, the absorption of liquid vitamins begins, as soon as they are consumed. This is because a pill needs to go through the digestive process, whereas the liquid directly gets absorbed into the bloodstream and the cells of the body.

These liquid vitamins are usually available in a wide variety of flavors, to suit the tastes of adults, as well as children. Therefore, people who avoid taking vitamin supplements mainly because they cannot stomach the taste should consider adding liquid vitamins to their diets. Moreover, vitamin pills contain preservatives, binders and fillers, to give the tablet its shape and to increase its shelf life.

However, there are certain drawbacks that are also associated with liquid vitamins too. It is believed that the nutrients present in liquid vitamins get destroyed when they get into contact, with the acids in the stomach, even before they reach the intestines. This could interfere with absorption process of the vitamins to a great extent. Moreover, the liquid vitamins do not have the ability to carry enzymes in a viable form, for over a day. This in turn reduces their effectiveness, when compared to vitamin pills. This could be one of the reasons why most doctors and health experts advise people to add a vitamin tablet to their daily diet.

Moreover, even the best liquid vitamin or pill could evoke adverse effects in the body, if it is consumed in excess. Therefore, it is important to consult a doctor for the right daily recommended doses before adding any supplement, including liquid vitamins, to a diet. In case there are any negative effects that are seen after the consumption of a vitamin, it is important for you to stop using it immediately and keep the doctor informed about it.
