In general, diet pills suppress the appetite and reduce weight. Some of tehm increase the metabolic rate and help in burning calories in excess. Some diet pills comprise of certain ingredients that reduce or block the appetite. Some diet pills, such as alli, available in the market blocks the pancreatic lipase synthesis. Lipase helps in the breakdown of the food into fats. Any symptoms, such as itching, hives, breathlessness and rash calls for immediate medical attention. Foods that contribute top more than 30 per cent calories are avoided, when consuming diet pills. Pills such as phentermine act on the neurotransmitters. The hunger signal is missed and the brain fails to receive any message regarding appetite.
