Hypnosis for Weight Loss

A lot of controversy exists related to the use of hypnosis in weight management. It forms the base of a relaxation technique and helps in inducing healthier eating patterns. Retaining them in the dietary regimen is also done. The resources already existing in the subconscious mind is helpful. Cravings for sweets and other foods are easily stopped.

Hypnotic induction is done by a hypnotist. They bring the individual to a hypnotised state. Hypnosis also involves psychotherapy, which helps in weight loss.

Complete use of hypnosis for weight loss is not possible. It is used, in addition to certain other weight loss techniques. Behavioural weight management in combination with hypnosis yields positive results. Positive eating behaviours and food intake modification in the long term is done by hypnosis. Incentive systems are developed that aid in closing the gap between long term weight reduction and short term reinforcers, which are usually given during the treatment.

The hypnotic program is based on the needs of every individual and the results differ. It results in low to moderate amount of weight loss. Hypnosis is a relaxation technique, which requires some effort. It is considered for short term weight loss or limited weight loss, which provides the best result when clubbed with any other form of treatment.
