Explain advantages of Weight Loss Diet?
(April 10, 2008)

Weight Loss Diet

An improper and poorly managed diet, devoid of exercise results in an array of complications in the body. Excessive weight is one of the most serious ones, as it further leads to other complications. Increased weight or obesity results in atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, and renal problems and so on. All these complications are lethal, if uncontrolled. Hence weight loss diets are recommended.

Crash diets are not recommended. A healthy lifestyle modification with a strict dietary regimen, which allows for weight loss, is recommended. Guidance of your physician is called for before roping on to any particular diet, as individual results vary. The two commonly followed plans are the low carbohydrate diet or the Atkin's diet and the low protein diet. The former includes reduction of calories by reducing the processed foods. The protein content is high and foods, such as meat, poultry, fish, vegetables and fruits are allowed. Vegetables and fruits that comprise complex carbohydrates, form the essential part of the low fat diet. They are not transformed to fat, thereby decreasing the fat content. The low fat diet has moderate amounts of protein and carbohydrates. Fad diets, ensuring immediate weight loss are abstained from, as they cause immense harm to the individual
