Permanent weight loss is achieved by healthy diets and exercise. Weight loss surgeries also result in permanent weight loss, though the side effects are many. Diet pills at times result in weight loss. Abuse of diet pills is abstained from. All the claims made by the manufacturers might prove wrong many a times. A balanced diet with the basic five food groups in the recommended levels help in losing the extra pounds, in a healthy manner. It is devoid of any consequences and certainly yields results. Crash diets and binge eating are avoided. Take the advice of your nutritionist for further guidance and recommendation.

Eat a wholesome diet with lots of vegetables and fruits. Green leafy vegetables should form an integral part of every day, as they provide antioxidants and phytonutrients.  Refined foods are avoided. Microwave, steaming and pressure cooking are the best and healthy methods of cooking. Whole grains and cereals with pulses and legumes contribute to dietary fibre. Whole milk and milk products are avoided. Animal foods are taken in a restricted manner. Lean meat is better, as red meat has marbled fat. Eggs provide high quality protein and fish provides a good supply of omega 3 fatty acids.
