Fast Foods You Must Avoid

April 20, 2011
Fast foods or junk foods have gained a lot of popularity over the years. This is primarily because of the breakneck speeds at which we lead our lives in these days. Who actually has the time to shop for, clean, and prepare a meal with fresh vegetables and meat? Besides be it the nearest fast food joint or the supermarket, you are constantly by the easy availability of fast food.

The hold of the fast food industry is so pervasive that although we know junk food is good for us,  many of us are still unable to resist the temptation to eat it.

Usually, most fast foods contain a lot of unhealthy fats, which are not at all desirable from a health point of view.

These foods are responsible for indigestion and obesity. They also cause uneven sugar levels in your blood stream. They are also responsible for an increase in the bad cholesterol level in your blood and hence result in high blood pressure and heart problems. Fast foods also retard your metabolism.

By regularly eating fast food, you are also inviting serious diseases like arthritis.

Moreover, subsisting on a fast food diet deprives you of the essential nutrients which are found in fresh healthy foods. The lack of proper nutrients hinders the normal physiological processes of the body.

In order to maintain a healthy life style, you must avoid the following fast foods :

• Avoid overeating burgers, especially those containing red meat.
• Avoid eating sausages as these contain the fats that are rich in saturated fatty acids. Regularly eating sausages can be very harmful for the health of your heart.
• You should also avoid eating hot dogs for the same reasons.
• You must not consume foods that contain a lot of finely grinded flour like pasta, macaroni, and even noodles.
• You are recommended not to eat fast foods that are high in fats such as pizza with a lot of cheese toppings.

People tend to eat fast foods when they are hungry in between their regular meals.

In such instances, try to replace fast foods with healthy foods like a bowl or sprouts or cut fruits. In fact, a bit of curd can also satisfy your untimely hunger pangs and also impart health benefits. You can also consume salads with your favorite fat free dressings.

You can always give in to temptation  and consume fast foods once in a while.

However, do remember to negate the calorie intake with regular work out.
