Focus on a healthy balanced diet that comprises of whole grains, cereals and beans, whole pulses and legumes, low fat or fat free milk and milk products. To prevent acidity and other stomach problems like belching, bloating and flatulence correct your meal timings. Eat 4-5 small meals in a day instead of 2 large meals. Avoid sleeping or lying down immediately after your meals. Keep a minimum gap of at least 2-3 hours between your meal times and sleeping time. If you have a habit of drinking tea or coffee, make sure that you have some other cereal along with it. For instance instead of just a cup of coffee in your breakfast, eat a whole wheat cracker or a whole wheat toast along with your coffee to prevent acidity.
