Benefits of Vitamin e Oil

 

Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin, which functions as an antioxidant.



It is effective against unstable molecules or free radicals, thereby delaying the process of aging. Vitamin E oil is safe for humans and is topically applied over the skin. They delay the process of aging and thereby reduce premature wrinkles, especially on the face. Vitamin E oil is an essential constituent of many creams and are seen at 0.5 percent levels.



The levels are increased to 10 to 30 per cent for providing skin protection and anti wrinkle phenomenon.

Benefits of vitamin E oil include rejuvenation and increased growth of new cells on the skin. Vitamin E oil is helpful for dry skin. In the case of individuals with oily skin, the vitamin E oil is mixed with a thin and dry vegetable oil.



Vitamin E oil is added directly to any of the face creams, at the time of use. Certain products make use of wheat germ to delay aging.

Wheat germ contains about 0.4 to 0.5 per cent of vitamin E oil in them. They become rancid and have a lower shelf life due to the increased quantity of linolenic acid. Vitamin E oil is also helpful in the removal for scars, associated with acne and pimples. Vitamin E oil finds a large place in creams and ointments for the removal of stretch marks. Marks of wounds and burns are also removed by the use of vitamin E oil. 
Vitamin E oil benefits cellular functioning. The creams and ointments that contain vitamin E protect the skin from any ultra violet damage. Alpha tocopherol is the active ingredient in vitamin E oil. It is a powder, which is blended well with carrier oil, thereby making vitamin E oil. Distillation of soya, corn and canola oil also helps in the production of vitamin E oil. They have a long shelf life of three years on closed containers.



Oxidation takes place on exposure to air, thereby making it unusable.

Storage from light and heat is required for this heavy and thick textured oil. Vitamin E oil is also commercially available as gel capsules. Break the capsule and use on the required area. Glycerides are added to the commercially manufactured oil, thereby, increasing the vitamin content of the oil to around 20 per cent. Certain individuals are prone to vitamin E allergy. Swelling of the face, lips and tongue, along with breathing difficulty is seen.
