Skin Care Health

Healthy skin care is extremely important in order that you not only look your best but feel your best.

In fact, if you are in good health, your skin will automatically take care of itself for the most part. Your health does indeed show in your skin, as many people believe. And the best way to achieve good health and good skin is through a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle.

Skin care and health go hand in hand, and your diet is probably the most important factor in determining the state of your health and your skin, even though hormones play a vital role. Poor quality food, processed foods, excesses of any food groups - any of these factors can seriously affect your health in the long run, and reflect on your skin almost immediately. Your diet needs to have adequate amounts of all the necessary nutrients.

Vegetables and fruits are a very important part of a healthy diet, as they provide fiber as well as minerals, vitamins, and many other nutrients that cannot be obtained from other sources. In addition, your body needs carbohydrates as an efficient fuel source. These are basically of two types - simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Your intake of simple carbohydrates should be limited, as these are not a very good source of fuel and also tend to cause health problems eventually. Complex carbohydrates are the most efficient fuel source, and are good for your body too. These can be obtained from whole grain - you should always go for foods such as brown rice and whole wheat bread over white rice and white bread. Finally, your body needs protein in order for its tissues to grow and be repaired. Meat and dairy are good sources of protein, but people often make the mistake of eating too much of these foods, or of eating fatty meat and dairy products. You should always consume low fat dairy products, and when eating meat pick the leanest portions.

It is also absolutely essential that you drink enough water everyday - dehydration can make the skin very dry, and can sometimes also cause puffiness. There are also some foods that have a direct impact on the health of your skin. These include flaxseed and fish, which contain omega 3 fatty acids. Vitamin A and Vitamin E are also particularly important for the skin, and can be obtained from carrots, broccoli, cabbage, and nuts.

Finally, you also need to exercise daily, even if this means simply walking briskly for half an hour to 45 minutes, and allow your body to get enough rest. Combining all these things makes for the best healthy skin care regimen.
