Computer professionals

Computer professionals have to keep up with the computer’s complexity. Some of them even need to stay up until the wee hours of the day. A common refreshment they use to keep their minds alive is a cup of coffee.  Their coffee diet, however, will have several negative effects on their bodies. Several studies have already showed the bad effects of coffee. In contrast also a lot of studies are trying to disprove this belief.
A study conducted by the University of Toronto in the year 2005 has showed that 1690 women with a family history of breast cancer who drank at least six cups of coffee each day has reduced their risk of the cancer by almost 70 percent. It is a fact that drinking coffee will give you less chances of having breast cancer however, this only applies to those who take in caffeinated coffee. Another study conducted by the John Hopkins University have proven that heavy drinking of coffee causes an increase in the blood pressure, however, the increase is not enough to trigger hypertension. Several researches have also proven that heavy drinking of coffee may cause a lowered risk in diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and heart disease.

Diabetes

The Harvard School of Public Health has conducted a study in the year 2003. They found out that those who drink four to five cups of coffee a day lowered their risk for type 2 diabetes by about 30 percent. And an additional 20 percent to men who drank six or more cups each day.

Heart Attacks

A 2000 Finnish research have found through a survey of 20,000 Finnish men and women and found out that their coffee habits have no connection to heart disease. The study, however, have showed that coffee drinkers have poor health habits when compared to those who did not drink coffee at all. Coffee drinkers are more likely to smoke and have more amounts of fats in the body. Even those who drank less than one cup of coffee a day are more likely to have nausea, constipation, congestion, back problems, and gall stones. In contrast, death cases because of heart disease came from those who do not drink coffee.

Effects on Brain

Another study conducted by Hawaiian researches have shown that people who drink at least three cups of coffee a day have a strong protection from developing Parkinson’s disease. They were five times less likely to have Parkinson’s disease.

These studies, therefore, will tell us that coffee gives us several health benefits. And that computer professionals may continue to drink coffee to stay awake and alert.
