Are You Really OverweightDue to lack of exercise we are burning fewer calories everyday and thereby gaining a lot of weight.
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measurement that helps us determine whether we are overweight or obese.
If height is measured in inches and weight in pounds and your BMI is between 25-30 then you are overweight.
If your BMI is greater than 30 than you are obese.
Ideal Weight Formula is an alternate method:- Females – For first 5feet of height, count 100 pounds. Then for each additional inch add 5 pounds. For example if you are 5feet 4inches you should weigh 120 pounds (5feet – 100 pounds and 4 inches – 4x5 = 20 pounds).
If you are 15 pounds or more than this ideal weight, you are overweight, and if you are more than 25 pounds then you are obese. - Males – For first 5feet of height count 106 pounds. Then for each additional inch include 6 pounds. If you are 15 pounds or more than this ideal weight you are overweight, and if more than 25 pounds then you are obese.
