Home Cure For Fever And Fever Blisters

A fever is not a disease but a symptom of some other health problem that needs our attention. It is a condition in which the body temperature rises above the normal 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. This elevation of temperature is caused by various factors, the most common being cold and cough. However, numerous other infections, fatigue, stress, and sometimes injuries also result in fever. A fever is actually beneficial to the body sometimes, as the increased body heat makes it impossible for the pathogens afflicting the body to survive. Also, the warm temperature is conducive for the white blood cells to multiply and fight off microbes and pathogens. However, that is not to say that a fever is always helpful and should be left untreated.

Tips For Treating Fever And Weakness

Fever is usually accompanied by weakness, so resting is beneficial for someone with a temperature. Before going to bed at night, rub apple cider vinegar all over your body, and cover yourself up with a warm blanket. Even if you sweat a lot, you must not take the blanket off. The more you sweat, the sooner will you be able to get rid of the fever. However, you must drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated, as dehydration is one of the biggest risks when running a fever. You can also dip a clean cloth in a mixture of water and vinegar combined in equal proportions and then wipe your entire body with this cloth. Alternatively, mix about two tablespoons of vinegar in two cups of warm water, dip a cloth in this and wrap it around your legs. This will ease the fever quickly.

There are many simple home remedies that you can use to cure your fever. About three drops of ginger juice mixed in a teaspoon of honey can be had about twice a day to treat fever. Drinking hot milk at night, with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder added to it, is also an effective way to treat fever. Basil leaves are also an effective medicine in curing viral infections and fever. You can chew about 8 basil leaves along with a few peppercorns or boil 12 grams of the leaves in half liter water and consume it about four times a day. Please note that all these remedies are only for a simple fever and mild infections. If you are suffering from any serious ailment, consulting your doctor is advisable. If these remedies are unable to get rid of the fever, you must see your doctor immediately as there may be a more serious underlying cause.
