The symptoms for irritable bowel syndrome primarily include cramping in the stomach, bloating, constipation and even diarrhea. Try and eat 4 to 5 small meals during the day rather than having 3 big meals as that will enable the body to digest food better. Do not have coffee, alcohol or any aerated drinks as that will aggravate your problem even more. Similarly, do not eat food that is spicy or eat food that contains excess amount of fats as both are not at all a good option when it comes to people suffering from an irritable bowel syndrome. Certain people have an irritable bowel after eating food that causes gas and thus, if you feel you are suffering from this then you need to stop eating such kind of food. Exercising is also very essential if you want to get rid of this problem as it is a great way to make the body strong. Ginger is an excellent remedy as it helps to reduce inflammation to a considerable extent and you can either have it in the form of ginger tea or simply have it raw. There are a couple of herbs that help treat this condition and they are chamomile, rosemary, lemon balm and valerian. Nicotine gums and candies that contain artificial sweeteners with sorbitol add further trouble to your problem and thus, if you are consuming a lot of these, you need to stop doing so immediately.
