Common symptoms of malnutrition include feeling constant exhaustion, depression, insomnia, indigestion, impatience, frequent mouth ulcers and brittle nails. You can prepare your own healthy shakes at home with the help of a few tips. Preparing your healthy shakes at home will help enrich your diet with adequate nutrition. The best kinds of healthy protein shake recipes are made from whole, fresh fruit juices. Generally, you can juice small fruits with seeds like pears and watermelon, with their seeds. However, ensure that you remove seeds from apples, papayas, grapefruit and orange fruits whose seeds may lend a bitter taste to the shake. Make sure to peel your vegetables and fruits before juicing them as they may contain chemical residues that are harmful for you. In addition, it is important to consume juice the day it is made as it may turn sour if not consumed immediately.

To make a healthy shake, with a fruit or vegetable of your choice, ensure that it is chopped to a size that is smaller than a golf ball. This will ensure that the fruit will blend completely. Place the chopped fruit in a blender along with the liquid ingredients in your shake and blend at a high speed setting. Check to make sure that there is no fruit jammed under the blades of the blender and ensure that the mixture has a smooth consistency. Add ice to the mixture through the opening in the blender’s lid until it reaches the desired consistency.
