Dessert Recipes Tips

Dessert recipes are generally loaded with calories because most of them are sweet in nature. However many low calorie recipes can also be made by substituting sugar with artificial sweeteners or by using fresh fruits in a particular recipe. Variety of mouth watering desserts includes pies, cakes, cheesecakes, pastries, fondues, soufflés, ice cream desserts, chocolate desserts, fruit desserts, puddings, tarts, torte desserts and trifle desserts. Weather a particular desert is advisable for you depend very much on your medical history. If you are overweight or if you are a person with diabetes then not all the desserts may not serve best for your health.

You need to be very selective about the items in your desserts especially sugar and fats if you are overweight or have diabetes. Margarine and other trans fats used in most of the cakes and pastries is particularly bad for health of any person whether or not he is suffering form any disorder. These fats when taken in large amounts can affect your blood cholesterol levels adversely in the long run and cause a series of problems like atherosclerosis and other heart diseases. Once in a while if you indulge yourself in a delicious dessert then just don't worry about the fats and sugar but just learn to watch and control the portion size.
