Sonoma Diet Substitute

Can you suggest some other diet apart from sonoma diet for weight reduction. What foods can be taken in a planned manner to have healthy diet plan for own self keeping weight loss in mind?

Sonoma diet is a diet, which has been derived from the Mediterranean diet.  It was developed in the early 1990s. The diet mainly comprises of fruits and vegetables and includes various stages, which include the number of days and the portion size of each meal.

There are other diet plans, which can be undertaken. This is also based on what your ultimate aim is or what exactly you are looking for along with a weight loss diet. The other famous diets, which can help you reduce weight, are the cabbage soup diet, South beach diet, the Milk Shake Diet, and Atkins diet.

However, before undertaking any of these programs it is strongly recommended that you consult a certified trainer or dietician for consultation. The best way to lose weight is through a gradual weight loss plan while on a healthy, balanced diet, in combination with light exercise. Rapid weight loss diets are not healthy and can contribute to long term weight gain.

Firstly, there is the cabbage soup diet. This diet mainly comprises of eating cabbage soup along with other fresh fruits and vegetables. This is a short term diet and should not be undertaken for more than 7 days. The diet plan highlights the importance of eating fruits and vegetables along with cabbage soup. Cabbage is an excellent meal for losing weight.

Atkins diet: This diet comprises of low-carb and high protein foods. Atkins diet emphasizes on cutting down on carbohydrates, which are responsible for high glucose levels in the body. The glucose in your body eventually turns into fat. If one cuts down the carbohydrates, the body will go into a state of low glucose levels, which means less body fat. The second phase of the diet stresses on eating protein rich food such as lean meats; namely fish and chicken. One has to also induce fresh fruits and vegetables into the diet. 

South beach diet:  This diet does not stress on eating low fats or carbs. It stresses on the fact that we need to have good carbohydrates and fats, which are essential to maintain a fit body. Some of these fats can actually help you to lose weight and keep your body fit. This diet comprises of 3 phases. To follow this diet one has to completely cut out all forms of refined sugars, carbohydrates and fats. These are usually found in all types of processed and fast foods. So these items should definitely be out of your shopping list. One should also exercise regularly to stay in shape and keep fit.
