Diet for Dry Skin

No particular diet fails to moisturize your skin, making them supple and soft. Certain hints in the diet shall help you in changing your skin in a slow manner. Adequate intake of water and other fluids help in providing moisture to the skin. Eat a balanced diet with adequate fresh fruits and vegetables. Deficiency of vitamins A and B also result in dry skin.

Supplementation of these required nutrients help.

Problems associated with the sebaceous glands, results in poor lubrication. Certain remedies help externally, more than internal factors. Apply a moisturizer, immediately after bath. This prevents the skin from drying. Any skin infections, such as psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis also results in dry skin. Avoid harsh chemicals and alkaline soaps. A massage with essential oils proves beneficial. Avoid rubbing with a towel, after bath. Apply a fresh coat of aloe vera gel from the leaf for a more supple skin.

Gentle patting is helpful in preventing further moisture loss from the skin. Topical application of baby oil or olive oil, prior to retiring to the bed is helpful in keeping the skin from drying. Do not touch washing powders and sodas.
