Weight Gain Tips

Hello. You are not that poorly underweight so it would be easy for you to gain 15-20 lbs. Instead of following a fix menu just for a week it would be ideal to follow certain dietary and lifestyle modifications which would keep you healthy for life.

  • As you enjoy non-vegetarian food you can easily incorporate a variety of foods in your diet. Fish, poultry, eggs, lean meat are all good sources of protein, good quality fat and provide moderate calories.

However it would be nice to avoid or minimize the consumption of red meat or full fat ham and pork, organ meats and shelled fish as they have a high fat content which can be harmful in the long run. Also select good cooking methods like grilling, broiling or steaming over deep frying to ensure that all the vital nutrients are not destroyed. Read more weight gain tips
  • Besides non-vegetarian foods also include whole grains cereals and its products, pulses, sprouts, and dairy products liberally in your diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables can be added for a healthy combination as it provides most of the vital nutrients required for the body to function normally.
  • Be physically active, exercise. You might think that exercise can lead to weight loss and might even experience that for the first 10-15 days when you start exercising. But gradually as your muscle mass will increase it you would realize how important exercise was for a healthy body composition.
