Does an OTC weight loss pill really help one to lose weight quickly? Here are some of the lesser known facts of using over the counter weight loss pills. Remember that there are several over the counter weight loss pills that can be purchased from the drugstore, health food store or even supermarket.

• Check for a medical endorsement on the pill you are buying.
• It is advisable to choose pills that have more natural ingredients than chemical ones. The package should clearly mention the ratio of natural ingredients that have been used.

It is easily available in the pharmacies, but drug abuse is never recommended. Adverse health effects are seen. These diet pills work as appetite suppressants or pancreatic lipase inhibitors.

Diuretics and laxatives are generally consumed by individuals on weight loss program. These fail to prove effective, and results in a myriad of complications. Dehydration, digestive tract damage and severe cramps are seen.
