Nutritional Value of Plums: Plum cakes are not just tasty, but they also have a lot of health benefits. Plum cakes are rich in nutrition.

The fruit itself is full of dietary fiber, which is an essential part of our diet. Plums are also very rich in several minerals that are essential for the body, such as copper, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese and potassium.  They also contain iron, zinc and calcium in small quantities. They are packed with vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin K.

Plums also have riboflavin, thiamin and niacin, as well as pantothenic acid, vitamin E, vitamin B6 and folate. Plums are rich in antioxidants too. Antioxidants help prevent any damage to the fat in our cells and to our neurons. Plums can also improve the absorption of iron.

So from now on, you can feel less guilty about eating plum cake, even if the festive season is long gone. In fact, you can make a plum cake not just for a celebration, but also when you simply feel a craving for something sweet. You can experiment with recipes and have a healthy and nutritious dessert. Plums fresh or dried are always beneficial to health. As with any other food, simply exercise moderation and resist the urge to overindulge. Moderation is the key to a healthy and nutritional diet. Also remember that readymade plum cakes have a considerable calorific value due to the amount of margarine and fat used. Therefore homemade plum cakes are better options.
