Facts And Figures About Chlorella - Healthy Benefits

What is Chlorella? Chlorella is a single celled water algae found in fresh water source. The term chlorella is derived from the Greek ‘chloros’ meaning green and ‘ella’ meaning small. However, this small emerald green organism tends to defy its size in more ways than one.

Chlorella has the highest chlorophyll content known in any natural source form.

It is also a rich natural source of variant nutrients; this includes vitamins (except vitamin D), fibers, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals. Given its high nutrient count it is often considered as a complete food.

Usually, chlorella is farmed in micro-algae ponds. Chlorella is derived from the water and then processed from plant form to supplementary powders and pills.

Health Benefits of Chlorella – Given its high nutrient properties chlorella is extremely useful in treating many ailments and correcting bodily imbalances and conditions.

It is known to be useful in boosting immunity, stabilizing blood sugar and blood pressure, just to name a few healing actions.

System Cleansing – One of the strongest properties of chlorella is that it is a natural detoxifying agent. It allows for effective cleansing of the blood and the body’s other elimination systems. The high chlorophyll content in chlorella helps effectively transport fresh oxygen around the blood, to the various organs.

This action results in a clean blood stream. Clean blood in turn washes out waste matter from body organs like kidneys, liver and the bowels; chlorella is especially effective in easing digestive disorders and constipation.

Heavy Metal Elimination – Chlorella helps flush out the heavy metals and toxins that tend to accumulate and affect body functions.

Accumulation of heavy metals can cause serious condition like epilepsy, heart and kidney dysfunction, Parkinson, etc. Chlorella has a fibrous outer shell. When this shell encounters heavy metals like mercury and lead in the bloodstream, it tends to instantly bind, pulling the poisons from the tissues and flushing them out of the system.

Fights Cancer – Chlorella has a strengthening effect on the immune system. It is known to increase production of antibodies that fight infection. This includes the production of interferon, the body’s natural weapon against destructive cancer cells. Chlorella allows the body to cope with the onslaught and maintain strength, improving the patient’s chances of fighting cancer.

Natural Deodorant – The high chlorophyll content in Chlorella makes it an effective natural deodorant. It helps eliminate body odor and chronic bad breath.

Maintaining pH balance – It is important to maintain the body’s pH level in order to live a long healthy life. However poor dietary habits (comprising of acid forming foods) tend to cause an imbalance in the pH. The growing acidic environment in the body results in illness including cancer. Chlorella helps counter the acidic environment and reestablish neutral pH levels in the body.
