Weight loss dietary supplements

Weight loss dietary supplements are gaining in popularity today as the weight loss industry is expanding. Many people are seeking ways to lose weight quickly without the hassles of regular exercise and dietary regulations. Most of these weight loss diet pills are easily available at local pharmacies and health stores. But what exactly is a weight loss dietary supplement and how does it work? Common weight loss supplements are designed to enable people to shed excess weight quickly.
Some supplements are touted to be fat blockers, while others are referred to as carb blockers. There are also some that are advertised as lipotropic, which means that they aid in the breakdown of fat in the body.

Many weight loss supplements are becoming increasingly popular because they are able to burn and get rid of fat from the body. A substance that is commonly used in many weight loss dietary supplements is carnitine, also known as L-carnitine. This compound is known to have the ability to dissolve fat. Other weight loss dietary supplements have gained in popularity because they affect the fat burning activities of the body. A substance used in these supplements is ephedra, which is believed to have a suppressive effect on a person’s appetite. It is also believed to stimulate people into exercising. There are still other weight loss dietary supplements that work as antioxidants and help to eliminate toxins from the body. Dietary fiber supplements and green tea are examples of these. Toxins cause fatty deposits to remain in the body. Antioxidants help to flush out these toxins, thereby enabling the body to burn and dispose of the fatty deposits. Weight loss supplements such as guar gum and psyllium are known to aid in weight reduction since they lead to satiety. Conjugated linoleic acid helps to reduce fat deposition through the process of oxidation. An extract from tamarind known as hydroxycitric acid lowers fat synthesis. Chitosan helps to lower fat absorption and thus helps to prevent obesity.

Weight loss nutritional supplements

Weight loss nutritional supplements are also a much-talked about subject today because of the side effects they are known to have. Ephedra is known to have adverse side effects such as acne, sleeplessness and even heart problems. Green tea extract is reported to cause side effects such as indigestion, diarrhea, bloating and vomiting. There may also be a considerable amount of caffeine in this supplement.

Hoodia Gordonii For Weight Loss

The use of hoodia gordonii in weight loss has been in the news a lot recently. Hoodia gordonii is a plant, the extract of which is used in weight loss supplements. It is said to work by suppressing the appetite, but it may also affect liver functioning and cause stomach upsets. Those with diabetes may also be affected by use of this supplement. Another concern associate with the increasing use of weight loss dietary supplements is that people are substituting them for healthy diet and regular exercise. Most people also adopt weight loss programs and start using weight loss products without proper research. Aggressive advertising makes these supplements seem as an easy path to quick weight loss. Many such products are also touted to be natural and without any side effects. But in some cases even weight loss herbal supplements are not entirely natural. Dietary and weight loss supplements do not have to meet the high standards that prescription drugs have to fulfill. The can also be marketed and sold without proper evidence of effectiveness and even safety. Therefore it is essential to do proper research before buying any weight loss dietary supplement. One must consult a doctor first and also read the labels carefully.
