Fat BurnersWe have all heard the term “fat burners” at one time or another.
This term is said to cover dietary supplements that are reportedly good at burning stored fat in a person's body. Such fat burning properties can be credited to the fat burner's ingredients and chemical makeup and may or may not successfully burn away a person's fatty deposits.
There are two main kinds of fat burners available to the public, the thermogenic kind and the lipotropic kind.
An example of a thermogenic substance is ephedrine whose active substance is ephedra. Thermogenic substances use thermogenesis or heat generation to stimulate the body to burn the stored fats in it. Since ephedra does this effectively, the drug ephedrine has become pretty popular among serious body builders to effectively lower the fat levels in their body. Lipotropic fat burners, on the other hand, helps to break down the fatty deposits found in a person's body during metabolism.
This also makes it ideal for body builders and people who wish to lose weight fast while exercising. These fat burners do burn fat when they are ingested simply because they aid the fat burning exercise in dissolving the fatty deposits faster than when a person exercises without these dietary supplements. The keto group or ketones are also known to burn fat in a person's body.
Ketosis happens during metabolism and is the bodily stage that turns fat into fatty acids that are then burned to create energy.
There are some dietary supplements that are mistakenly called fat burners. Green tea and chitosan are some of the substances that people call fat burners although they are not.
Green tea is actually an anti-oxidant that helps in the proper disposal of waste and the excretion of toxins in the body. Chitosan is a fat inhibitor that when ingested is said to absorb the fats that a person eats after taking supplements with this substance. Chitosan is not actually as effective as it is purportedly being said to be.
Green tea and chitosan are two of the more common substances being used as dietary supplements and are often used along with other fat burners to help a person lose weight faster.
Fat burners are pretty effective in burning stored body fat, however, if fat burners are used without the added benefits of exercise and a healthy diet, the effects are substantially diminished. These fat burners and other dietary supplements should only be used in conjunction with exercise and a proper diet.
