Three Day DietThe three diet uses a technique which mainly focuses on fixing certain types of food to achieve metabolic reactions in the body.
Supposedly, the chemicals should boost you metabolism so as to burn fats faster than the usual rate. The diet only lasts for three days and must be taken every 4 to 5 days. The claims of the creators of the diet may not be achieved even if they say it is possible.
Divided Meal PlanOn the breakfast of the first day of the diet plan, you are allowed to take in coffee without sugar, a piece of toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter as spread. By lunch you are given a can of tuna, black coffee, and another piece of toast. Dinner gives you 3 ounces of either lean meat or chicken, one apple, a cup of carrots, another cup of green beans, and another cup of your regular vanilla ice cream for desert.
The next 2 days of the diet plan contain similar quantities however vary in the specifics. For example, for the second day, the diet consists of two franks of beef instead of three ounces of lean meat for dinner. The diet claims that it will help you loose 10 pounds in the three day duration of the diet.
The variations in the meal plan are what, as they say, does the “unique metabolic reaction.”
Wrong Choice: Yo-yo DietFor someone who wants to loose weight, this approach may not be advisable. Claims that say the diet works because of the unique food combination and the “unique metabolic reaction” are yet to be found. The only possible reason that this diet will be effective is because of the severe calorie restriction.
Because of the low amount of calorie intake, the body will tend to loose water weight since carbohydrates encourage the body to retain water which is necessary and very important. By the time the person goes back to the normal diet, these water weight will be regained. The three day diet is a best example of a “yo-yo” diet that does not give information to the dieter on how to reach a healthy and sustainable weight loss.
Many alternatives are now available which are much more effective and healthy. And since the diet’s claims to reduce weight with the use of a “unique metabolic reaction” is unfound, it would be best to engage in a better diet plan.
