Types Of Salads To Reduce Weight

There are many different types of salads for losing fat. For instance, a salad made out of grains is beneficial for losing weight. Simply combine chopped tomatoes, parsley and cucumbers with some couscous and you have a healthy weight loss salad on your hands. Another salad you can try is one that is made of raw or roasted vegetables along with some leafy green vegetables (spinach, cabbage, kale and so on). Add some slices of chicken breast, a few nuts for variety as well. You can also make a salad out of leafy green vegetables, pears, and add some dried cranberries or raisins to it. Skip the dressing if you wish to lose weight by eating salads. The dressing will just add extra calories to an otherwise healthy salad.

Precautions While Consuming Salads

Keep these precautions in mind while consuming salads. Always ensure that you wash all fruits and vegetables that are being used in the salad extremely well. A salad can be a source of food poisoning if the vegetables are not washed properly before use. Make sure that the vegetables for the salad are stored in the refrigerator and eaten before the use by date. Wash any salad ingredients that have been pre washed, again, before making up the salad. This will help remove any dirt or pesticide residue that may still be on them. Do not use the outer leaves of vegetables such as lettuce or spinach. It is better to discard them.
