Best Ways to Lose Weight and Weight Management Programs I was weighing 90 kilograms last year and I have been try to loose weight, but I have managed to loose only 2 kgs.

Weight loss besides regular diet and exercise needs patience, time, dedication and inclination to achieve your target goal. However just 2 kg in one year is too slow, but don’t get depressed. Instead think positively that at least you lost some weight and haven’t gained any. That is a good sign. The following dietary tips and lifestyle modifications listed below will not only help you to lose weight but also keep your blood pressure under control -
More Weight Loss and Healthy Ways to Lose Weight
- Make complex carbohydrates the base of your diet. Good sources of complex carbohydrates include whole grains, cereals and its products, sprouts, beans, pulses and fresh fruits and vegetables. These foods will not only provide sufficient energy and other nutrients but also provide fiber which will help you to lose weight. Avoid the consumption of processed foods and refined foods as most of the nutrients are striped off during the refining process and they mainly provide wrong calories.
- Your protein needs can be achieved from fat free dairy products, sprouts, egg whites, nuts, de skinned poultry, fish and lean meat. Other protein sources like organ meats, meats, shell fish, egg yolk and pork are high in cholesterol, saturated fat and sodium which need to be restricted.
- Fats both visible and invisible form should be restricted in the diet. Avoid the consumption of junk foods, oily/fatty/fried foods, alcohol, sweets, bakery foods that contain lot of margarine, cream and butter; carbonated beverages, sweetened beverages, colas and sodas as far as possible.
- Reduce the intake of salt in the diet if your blood pressure remains on the higher level.
Also other salted foods like popcorn, salted chips, salted nuts, salted snacks, salted meats and sausages should be avoided. - Start your meals with a bowl full of fresh vegetable salad. Eating salad will increase your intake of vegetables and restrict your intake of excess calories from the subsequent meals. However don’t add fatty dressings in your salad like mayonnaise as this will serve no purpose. You can choose other dressing options like pepper, lemon juice and vinegar to increase the palatability of your salads.
- Drink plenty of water to keep yourself well hydrated. You can also drink a glass of water 20 or 30 minutes before consuming your main meals.
- Exercise regularly. Increasing your physical activity and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle will not only help to reduce your excess body weight but also help to maintain your blood pressure in normal range. However before starting any of the strenuous exercises consult a specialist for confirmation to avoid any complications.
