Best Protein Shake |
Best protein shake It is a common sight in any gym to see people downing a protein shake before or after a workout. Protein shakes can be a great help to people who do not have the time, or for some reason, cannot get a diet that promotes muscle building. Protein shakes can provide the required protein to help you bulk up. Of course, what kind protein shake you use depends on what sports you are into and your primary objectives. If you are a long distance runner, then your requirements are vastly different from a weightlifter or a bodybuilder. So, the best protein shake for muscle gain varies from person to person.
There are many types of protein shakes available on the market. One of the most popular and effective shakes on the market are those that are made from whey protein. It is not surprising that whey makes for one of the best protein shakes; it has some positive benefits that are hard to match. First, and probably most importantly, whey is very efficiently digested by the body. This means that when you consume a whey protein shake, your body has access to more protein that it would for any other kind of protein. The reason for this is that whey protein has a very high biological value (BV). This refers to the available amount of protein in any food. The BV of egg protein is 100 and beef, which is considered a lean meat, is 75. By contrast, the BV of whey protein can be anywhere from 104 to 170.
Another reason why whey protein is considered the best protein shake is that it is full of amino acids. It has all the necessary amino acids needed to make it a complete protein, which means that it can be used by the body for building up muscle that has be torn during training. This is probably one of the reasons why weightlifters and bodybuilders use whey protein so much. Thirdly, your immune system benefits considerably with whey protein. When you train at a very high intensity, your immune system weakens and is left vulnerable. This makes you susceptible to illnesses that you are normally not affected by, like the common cold. It is also why injuries take longer to heal when you are training very hard. Whey protein has been shown to strengthen the body’s immune system, keeping you free from disease. If you are free from disease, you will not have to take breaks from training, and lose all your hard won gains. Also, you will be able to train for longer without seeing symptoms of overtraining.
Whey also makes for one of the best protein shakes for women and is probably the best protein shake for weight loss. This is because when you are trying to lose weight, you need a higher quantity of protein intake. Remember, that the more your muscle mass, the higher your metabolic rate, meaning that you burn more calories even at rest. Keep in mind though, that a supplement should only be used when you are unable to get all the nutrition you need from food. A good diet has no comparison, and is infinitely healthier than a supplement.
