THE JUICES YOU CAN USE

A balanced diet is a combination of the various elements that are required by body, in a proportionate amount.

Similarly, juice therapy must also follow a balanced approach. It may be necessary to take a combination of juices in order to affect an effective therapy.

One of the most important things to remember when selecting juices is to use freshly gathered produce. Remember that the moment a fruit or vegetable is plucked; it begins to decompose and lose its nutrients.

By far the best option is to grow these fruit and vegetables organically in your own backyard. In this manner you can be assured of the freshness of the product. However, this might not always be possible, especially in an urban setting. When selecting fruit and vegetables from your local greengrocer, ensure that it looks fresh and healthy.

Before using them, wash the produce in running water to remove all contamination. Canned and bottled juices should be avoided because most of the nutritional value is lost.

The very best of raw materials should always be used. Another good option is to use freshly gathered produce from your own organically cultivated garden.

This is not always possible for most people. The next best thing is to buy good looking, fresh fruit and vegetables from your local supplier. Care should be taken to always wash bought produce with clean, flowing water to remove any contamination. Deep freezing is an excellent method for storing the produce for an extended period of time.

The nutritional losses that occur during deep freezing are minimal and it is a healthier option than buying canned or packaged produce.

The next issue that must be addressed is the quantity of juice that should be taken. Keep in mind that small amounts of juice taken for a short period of time will rarely show any benefits. The daily consumption should vary between one to eight pints. Over or under dosage will not yield any results.

It should also be kept in mind that juice therapy is a natural form of treatment and will take some time to show results. Do not be disheartened even if it takes a month for results to show.
