In individuals with high cholesterol symptoms such as dizziness, balance problems, nausea, vomiting and fainting could be indicative of a stroke. High cholesterol symptoms in men and women may differ. The manner of treatment may also vary.

Most people wonder how to reduce cholesterol by diet. The key to managing cholesterol levels is to follow a healthy diet that incorporates plenty of fruits and vegetables. It is advisable to consult a doctor or a dietician regarding the foods to avoid. In addition to healthy diet, regular exercise is also a must. Certain medications may also be prescribed which help to keep blood cholesterol levels under control. A low fat diet helps to prevent the cholesterol levels in the blood from rising. It is advisable to avoid consuming junk foods and also processed foods. Some natural foods are known to help in keeping cholesterol levels low. These include grape extract, fiber and garlic. It is important to maintain healthy body weight. This means that you need to monitor the size of food portions and the type of foods you consume.
