Healthy Breakfast Choices The importance of eating breakfast has been highlighted several times through various articles and research studies that state that the body burns off most of the fat in the morning and stores the fat in the evening. Eating a healthy breakfast every morning will increase your metabolism, allowing you to burn calories and fat at a faster rate. There are many healthy breakfast choices that can give your body a good amount of energy, to deal with the tasks of the day. It has also been proved that eating a substantial breakfast will not make you gain weight. On the contrary, a healthy breakfast can help you lose weight, by controlling the urge to binge on unhealthy foods, later in the day.
One of the most common excuses given by people who skip breakfast is that they do not have the time to fix themselves something. However, for people who barely have time in the morning, there are several fast healthy breakfast options that should not take more than a few minutes to prepare. You can always pack yourself some breakfast and carry it to work (as most people normally do with lunch) and then eat it once you are sitting in your car or are at your desk. However, you need to ensure that you don’t wait for too long, before you get to eating it.
You could stock up on some whole-grain muffins or bagels and carry one of those along with some yoghurt or peanut butter and a hard boiled egg if possible. Topping it off with fruit would make it even better. There are also many brands of unsweetened cereals that are very healthy and easy to prepare and they only need to be added to hot water. Instead of getting rid of leftovers, you could save them for breakfast the next morning. Even a slice of pizza is better than no breakfast at all but this should not be a regular habit. On occasion when you don’t get the chance to prepare breakfast for yourself, you should buy something from a café when you are on your way. While bagels and muffins are healthy, you should stay away from sweet doughnuts or pastries, because they provide nothing but empty calories that have no nutrition. While energy bars can be great breakfast options, it is important to read the labels before you eat them as some of them as not very healthy and contain high amounts of sugar. Make it a point to eat a fruit or some yoghurt, if nothing else, for breakfast, everyday.
