Chew ginger to avoid fart or belch embarrassment:

Is there any way to prevent a loud belch fart in public is it caused due to improper diet or heredity problems how do we avoid the embarrassment?

Flatulence or gas a type of problem which each and every person tends to face at one point or the other in their lives. But a loud belch or fart can not only be embarrassing but also uncomfortable at times. Excess gas present in the gastrointestinal tract can pass out of the body either by burping or through the rectum as a fart. Gas is nothing but an odorless vapor with similar constitution of air like in environment that is it contains hydrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, sometimes methane and small amount of sulfur containing gas. This gas finds its way in the digestive tract from two ways – swallowed air through rapid eating, smokings, rapid drinking, lose dentures or chewing gums and undigested food breakdown by the bacteria present in the large intestine.

Improper diet (like odd eating timings, late night fat laden meal, and certain foods) and heredity are two factors which add fuel to this problem. It is important to know the cause for excess belching and farting to treat the problem effectively. Although gas, flatulence and belching are common symptoms for many disorders it can be effectively handled by following the listed tips below –

  • Cut thin slices of fresh ginger and add salt and lemon juice to it. Store this mixture in a glass bottle and keep it in the refrigerator. After your meals to aid digestion chew few slices of this ginger. Ginger can also be liberally used in preparing meals as it helps in digestion. Another effective way to incorporate ginger is mixing salt, asafetida and ginger powder in a cup of lukewarm water and drinking this water daily to relieve gas problem.
  • There are certain foods which act as offenders and cause gas problem. Learn to identify which food offends your system and try to minimize its consumption for sometime. Common triggers include beans, broccoli, bananas, apples, Brussels sprouts, corn, cauliflower, cabbage, milk, onion, ice cream, tomatoes, radish, peas, egg plant and artificial sweeteners.
  • Take 10 gm fresh basil juice, 10 gm ginger powder and 20 gm jiggery. Mix these ingredients to make small balls and eat on regular basis to eliminate flatulence and belching problem. Chewing few fresh leaves of basil early in the morning can also serve your purpose.
  • Lose weight if you are above your ideal body weight and avoid a sedentary lifestyle. Be active and exercise to deal with your problem.

Some medical conditions like Crohn's disease, lactose intolerance and celiac disease can also cause excess flatus and belch. Consult a specialist to know the exact cause for your problem so the medical treatment would follow accordingly.
