Rice is extensively consumed as well as cultivated all across the world.



In Asia, rice is a staple food, while other countries around the world use rice in their cooking too. In Italy, you can sample the exotic risotto, a tasty rice dish cooked with vegetables, meat, vegetable stock and wine.

  • Rice does not contain cholesterol, sodium or harmful fats. You must also remember that rice has an important part to play in a balanced diet.
  • This cereal contains vitamins and minerals like riboflavin, thiamine, iron, fibre, calcium, vitamin d and niacin.
  • Rice with its resistant starch produces helpful bacteria that help in the proper bowel movements.
  • Since rice has minimal quantities of sodium, it is good for people suffering from hypertension and high blood pressure.
  • Rice with its rich insoluble fibre can be a good for preventing cancer. The fibre in rice can protect the body against cancerous cells.
  • The husk that is derived from rice can cure dysentery because it is said to contain diuretic properties. It can also cure stomach ailments and can increase appetite, something that the Chinese believe in.
  • Brown rice is rich in neurotransmitter nutrients, which can prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
