Natural remedies for hay fever are also a popular choice in case of mild allergies and as a complementary therapy. They help ease symptoms and speed up recovery. These measures range from simple salt water gargling to soothing herbal baths. Herbs with strong anti-allergy properties like Ginkgo Biloba are also very useful in recovering from hay fever. You could also opt for alternative therapies like acupuncture to fight off the allergies.
You can also enforce some simple and practical measures to avoid aggravating symptoms. Be sure to protect your eyes and mouth during high pollen times. Don’t dry your washing outside during this time, especially if the conditions are windy. Also avoid camping trips during the season. Diet – Following a proper diet can help control the symptoms of hay fever. First and foremost cut out all the sugary and packaged foods. Replace them with fresh greens and fruits. Be sure to include omega – 3 fatty acids like fish and walnuts in your meals as they are known to reduce inflammation.
Also include fresh garlic to your meals. Garlic is known to boost immunity and also works as a decongestant. Similarly drink herbal teas (especially mint and thyme). They soothe the throat and respiratory tract. They ease inflammation, relieve congestion and flush out the toxins and keep the body clean.
