  • Before you start changing your diet pattern, we suggest that you keep a diary about what you eat at every meal. Then show that record to a dietician or a doctor and ask them to advise you about the changes that you should make.
  • You can also eat yoghurt instead of other milk products, as yoghurt is said to have a calming effect on the stomach.

  • Sometimes, including more fiber in your diet can also lessen constipation, which is one of the symptoms of IBS. Vegetables, fruits, cereals and whole grain breads are a good source of dietary fiber. Food rich in fiber can even keep the colon a bit distended, which can prevent spasms.
