7 days cabbage soup diet plan:

Can sprouted beans be used in 7 days weight loss plan?

There are many diets which claim weight loss in just 7 days, from your question it is not clear which diet you are talking about.

Two common diets that last for 7 days are – general motors weight loss diet and 7 days cabbage soup diet plan. In both these diet plans there is restriction of more than one or two food groups. However these diet plans do not allow you to eat sprouted beans on any of the days of the diet plan.

Any diet plan that includes unusual combinations of foods that nearly forces you to starve each day is not desirable. These diets can only temporarily make weight loss possible. This method of repeated weight loss with fad diets and weight gain again is called as yo-yo syndrome.

After you are back to your regular lifestyle and diet after 7 days you will start gaining weight again, and this time, weight gain will be worst than before.

Sprouted beans and pulses are otherwise a good and healthy option and you can include them in your diet when you are not on any weight loss fad diets. Sprouting any beans or pulses increase the nutrient value of that particular pulse or beans to many folds. Additionally sprouts are low in fat and high in proteins and other vital nutrients so they can also be successfully used as a part of your weight loss program. Remember weight loss should always be a healthy process with a balance of proper diet and exercise.

The following dietary tips and lifestyle modifications will help you lose weight in a healthy manner –

  1. Avoid any quick weight loss plan; make a realistic goal and work to achieve the same. Don’t focus to lose more than ½ kg weight per week. For this you can decrease your calorie intake and increase your physical activity.
  2. Calories mainly from fats should be restricted as one gram of fat provides more than double the calories than proteins or carbohydrates and thus most of the time is the main culprit for weight gain. So avoid fatty/fried/oily foods and junk foods altogether.

  3. Increase your intake of complex carbohydrates present in fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, cereals and its products instead of choosing processed and refined food products.
  4. Proteins can be derived from pulses, sprouts, low fat or fat free dairy products, fish, egg whites, de skinned poultry and lean meats.
  5. Drink plenty of water and set a regular exercise regime. Exercise will not only help to boost your metabolism and make you feel active but also help in the weight loss process.
