Easy To Make Ham Burger With Turkey, Cheese And Mayonnaise

Veggie Filled Burgers Ingredients

4 hamburger buns, whole wheat
¾ pound turkey, lean ground
½ cup zucchini
¼ cup green onions or scallions, chopped
2 tablespoon carrot, grated
½ cup fresh basil
4 lettuce leaves
1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
¼ cup bread crumbs, soft, whole wheat
2 tablespoon whole milk
¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning, dried
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon curry powder
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ cup Dijon style mustard

Method:

Stir together the scallions or green onions, grated carrot, whole milk, bread crumbs, garlic salt, Italian seasoning and ground black pepper in a medium bowl. Add the lean ground turkey and mix well. Using your hands shape this turkey mixture into 4 half inch thick patties.

For charcoal grill: Lightly grease a rack of an uncovered grill. Place the patties on the greased rack directly over medium to hot coals. Grill uncovered for about 10 to 12 minutes for medium doneness, turning once halfway through the grilling process to ensure even grilling from both the sides. An instant read thermometer when inserted in the center of the patties should register 165 degree Fahrenheit for medium doneness.

For gas grill: Lightly grease the rack and preheat the grill. Reduce heat to medium and place the patties on the hot grill rack. Cover and grill for about 10 to 12 minutes for medium doneness. Turn the patties once halfway through the grilling process to ensure even grilling from both the sides. An instant read thermometer when inserted in the center of the patties should register 165 degree Fahrenheit for medium doneness.

In a small bowl, stir together the curry powder and Dijon style mustard.

To serve: Place the grilled patties on the hamburger buns. Top each patty with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, shredded zucchini and mustard mixture. Secure each bun with a toothpick and serve immediately. This recipe makes 4 servings.
