Recipes For Pineapple Crisp Mix

Pineapple Pear Crisp Ingredients:

3 cups pineapple, chopped coarsely
5 medium sized ripe pear, peeled and cored
¼ cup honey
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ground
¼ teaspoon nutmeg, ground
¼ teaspoon ginger, ground or 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup toasted hazelnuts, chopped
3 tablespoon oil, cooking
Frozen vanilla ice cream or yogurt, low fat, optional

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degree Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut the peeled pear lengthwise into 2 parts. Arrange these halved pears in a 2 quart rectangular sized baking dish in such a way that the cut side faces up. Sprinkle the tops with cinnamon. Spoon chopped pineapple and drizzle the pineapple with 2 tablespoons of honey.
  3. Combine flour, hazelnuts, oats, ground nutmeg, ginger, and brown sugar in a bowl and sprinkle cinnamon over it.
  4. Combine the remaining 2 tablespoon honey with cooking oil in a small bowl and sprinkle oat mixture over the fruit.
  5. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes or till the pears are tender. To prevent over browning of the pears cover them with a foil for the last 5 minutes of the baking time.
  6. After done remove the dish from oven and let it stand for 5 minutes. Serve hot with chilled vanilla ice cream or chilled vanilla yogurt if desired. This recipe makes 10 servings.
