Low Calorie Turkey Chili Recipes

Turkey burgers

Ingredients:

¼ small cup yellow onions, chopped
1 small clove garlic, minced
½ teaspoon olive oil
2 oz ground turkey breast, skinless
1 teaspoon bread crumbs, dried
½ teaspoon barbeque sauce
1 teaspoon quick cooking oats
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon dried basil leaves
¼ teaspoon wheat germ, toasted
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Method:

Heat oil in a large skillet over a medium flame and sauté onions and garlic till done. When the onions turn light brown sprinkle little water to prevent burning. Transfer the onions in a bowl when done and let it cool. To this bowl add turkey, oats, bread crumbs, barbeque sauce, oregano, basil, wheat germ, salt and pepper. Mix well using your hands and make 2 patties. Take a non stick pan and coat with cooking spray and cook the patties on both the sides properly till browned and crispy. Serve hot with whole wheat burger breads. This recipe serves 1 and provides 220 calories and 8 gm fat.

Ground Turkey chili with white beans

Ingredients:

2 oz ground turkey, skinless
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
¼ cup onion, chopped
¼ teaspoon roasted cumin, ground
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 bay leaf
½ teaspoon coco powder, unsweetened
½ cup tomatoes, chopped
½ cup beef broth, low fat
1 ounce white beans, boiled and drained
A pinch of ground cinnamon
Salt to taste

For garnish:

1 teaspoon chopped red onions and cilantro
1 teaspoon plain yoghurt, low fat

Method:

Heat oil in a medium sized skillet; add onions and sauté for 5 minutes or till golden brown. Add oregano, cumin and sauté further for a minute. Add turkey and sauté constantly breaking it with the back of your spoon. Cook till it is no longer pink. Then add bay leaves, chili powder, cinnamon, coco powder, salt and sauté. Add tomatoes and stir breaking the tomatoes with the back of your spoon. Mix beef broth and bring it to a boil. Reduce flame to low and simmer for 30 minutes or till the turkey is cooked thoroughly, occasionally stir. Add beans at the end and simmer till the flavor blends. Serve hot in a bowl. Garnish with red onions cilantro and yoghurt. This recipe serves 1 and provides 175 calories and 9 gm fat.

Delicious Turkey Chipotle Chili Recipes

Turkey chipotle chili

Ingredients:

¼ medium bell pepper, seeded and chopped
¼ small onion, chopped
1 teaspoon canola oil
2 oz turkey breast
¼ can tomato sauce
¼ can kidney beans
¼ teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon chipotle pepper, minced
½ teaspoon reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded
Salt to taste

Method:

Sauté bell peppers, onion in oil over a medium heat for 5 minutes. Add turkey and sauté further for 5 minutes. Add beans and tomato sauce, chipotle and stir well. Cook to get a boil. After a boil reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes. Garnish with shredded cheese and serve hot. This recipe serves 1 and provides 220 calories and 9 gm fat.
