Health tips:

  • Mocktails can be made even healthier by following recipes that use yogurt or toned/low fat milk. These ingredients are known to be high in anti oxidants and calcium but low on empty fat building calories.
  • Mocktails typically also call for the use of a lot of fresh fruit such as strawberry, blueberries, cherries, oranges, mangoes, pineapples or even fresh fruit juices which are rich in vitamins and fiber required by the body to build muscle and tissue.
  • Fresh fruits also help alleviate symptoms of cough, colds, lack of energy, lethargy etc as they are an abundant source of natural sugar that is easily absorbed by the body.
  • The consumption of fresh fruit mocktails rather than sugary carbonated drinks also helps in keeping cholesterol levels in check and avoiding diseases like diabetes.
  • Thus mocktails can be a refreshing and healthy option to quench your thirst and keep the body hydrated with the right kind of fluid intake.
  • If the mocktail is meant for children then the most popular ingredient that may be added is ice cream.
