Home Remedies for Eczema
Eczema is a very general term that is used to describe a number of types of skin rashes and inflammatory conditions. Atopic dermatitis is the most widespread form of eczema Studies have shown that almost 10 percent to about 20 percent of the population in the world are affected by eczema, although many children affected by it will usually see the disease clear and disappear with age. The condition is likely to recur at different times during an individual’s life and its presence will be significantly influenced by a number of external factors. Some of these external factors include exposing your skin to irritants such as detergents, chemical based cosmetics and sweat as well as environmental allergens. The condition is not contagious and, like so many other diseases, no permanent cure has yet been found. The symptoms of eczema will differ quite a bit from one individual to another, although there are a few symptoms that tend to be rather common in most victims. In most cases, the first and most prominent symptom will be an intense itching around the affected area which will then turn into dry or scaly skin, or even develop some blisters or oozing lesions. The most human reaction to eczema is to scratch the affected skin, this will tend to thicken the skin and cause it to become rather crusty. Eczema may also occur simply as a temporary reaction in which the symptoms die down in only a matter of hours.
Eczema Natural Treatment: Because of the fact that eczema is such a common condition, there are a number of natural treatment options available that will provide significant relief from the irritation. One of the most effective treatment options is to take one teaspoon each of camphor and sandalwood and create a paste which should be allowed to settle for some time. Later, this paste should be applied gently over the affected area before being washed off with the help of lukewarm water after about 30 minutes. Repeat this treatment twice a day, for a period of a week. Mango is highly regarded for its natural curative properties and peeling off the mango skin and boiling the pulp in some water before allowing it to cool will create a very effective paste that should be applied to the affected parts of the skin, repeatedly for about 10 to 15 days. The application of the extract juice of musk is also known to be very beneficial in treating eczema.
