Home Remedies for Walking Pneumonia
Pneumonia is a dangerous condition that affects either one or both the lungs. Walking pneumonia on the other hand, is a much milder form of this condition. Less severe in nature, a large number of people tend to suffer from it without even realizing that they are doing so. In-fact, as the symptoms displayed by this condition are not as serious as that of pneumonia, one may actually mistake it for the common cold. Also referred to as atypical pneumonia or mycoplasma pneumonia, this condition although not serious, can prove to be rather annoying and troublesome. When suffering from this condition, an individual generally experiences the symptoms of a cold such as a sore throat, fever and runny nose. The symptoms are usually mild during the first few days, gradually progressing over a span of 2-3 weeks. It usually starts of with a reduction in energy levels and a constant feeling of exhaustion.
Over a period of time, an individual will gradually begin to display the following symptoms; sudden chills, constant runny nose, severe body aches, particularly in the chest, muscles, ears, eyes and abdominal area, sore throat, cough, fever, mild headaches, rapid breathing on account of fatigue and lethargy. This condition however, can be treated effectively with the help of a few home remedies. Tea tree oil is known to be a strong microbe killer, which acts on viruses, bacteria as well as fungi. Heat some water in a medium sized container. To this add a few drops of tea tree oil. Once the water begins to boil and emit steam, place your head over the container. Thereafter, place a towel over your head and the vessel; this will direct the steam directly into your face. Inhale the hot vapor for about 10 minutes. This treatment if done 2-3 times a day will help in getting rid of the condition.
Garlic is also helpful when it comes to treating this condition. Take a small garlic pod and chop it into fine pieces. Consume the chopped garlic along with a glass of warm water 2-3 times a day. Sipping on a cup of warm ginger tea, twice a day will also prove to be beneficial, as it helps in getting rid of a fever. Consume plenty of fresh fruits and green leafed vegetables. Drinking freshly squeezed fruit as well as vegetable juices will also help. Include chili peppers and black pepper into the diet as they help the body absorb vital nutrients and medicines.
