Home Remedies For Yeast Infection | Yeast Infection Treatment And Cures

Symptoms Of Yeast Infection And Yeast Infection Cure

We all have a small number of tiny organisms called yeasts, medically termed candida fungus, living on our bodies. When these organisms multiply to a harmful level, they become infectious, and cause burning, itching, and swelling on the affected area. Other than the burning and itching of the affected region, yeast infection also leads to vaginal discharge, burning sensation during urination, and painful sexual intercourse.

Women are more prone to yeast infections, though men are also susceptible to it. Though the infection usually affects the genitals of both men and women, it can also afflict other areas such as the underarms or the webs between the toes. A yeast infection typically affects one when his or her immunity level is low. There are also other reasons like stress, certain medications, diabetes, consuming oral contraceptives, and menstrual periods that also cause yeast infections.

Treat Yeast Infections With Anti-fungal Treatments

To avoid yeast infections, all the factors mentioned earlier need to be kept at bay. The sufferer must also ensure that he or she doesn’t wear tight clothing or underclothing, and that the genital areas are always dry, as yeast thrives in damp areas.

You can use some simple home remedies to cure the problem. Apple cider vinegar is very effective in treating yeast infections because of its antifungal properties. You can dilute vinegar with water, and apply it with a clean cotton ball on the affected areas, including the vagina. Similarly, you can mix tea tree oil and water, soak a tampon in it, and insert it in the vagina or apply it topically on the affected skin. Like tea tree oil and vinegar, garlic also has antiviral and antifungal properties, so applying garlic paste on the skin is also helpful in treating such infections.

Yogurt is also very beneficial when treating yeast infections. You can dip a tampon in Yogurt, insert it in the vagina, and let it stay for an hour. Doing this thrice a day will cure the infection in a short span of time. The sufferer must continue doing this for a day more after the symptoms have completely disappeared. Consuming buttermilk twice a day and including yogurt in your daily diet also reduces the chances of suffering from yeast infections.

In the meanwhile, you can get rid of any itching and burning by applying baby oil with aloe vera or Vitamin E oil on the affected areas. If the symptoms continue for more than a week, make sure you consult a doctor about the same.
