Treat Pinworms Effectively At Home

Pinworms are very tiny white parasites that measure about quarter of an inch in terms of length. Pinworms invade a person’s intestinal tract, generally residing in the upper portion of the individual’s colon and survive by feeding on the intestinal contents. While pinworms are more commonly found in children, adults may be affected by the condition as well. Pinworms are known to cause anal itching, in-fact that is one of the most common symptoms to be associated with this condition. However, having said that, the condition may not display any symptoms at times. Apart from anal itching, a person may also experience abdominal pain, convulsions, insomnia, nausea and joint pain.

Simple Home Tips For Treating Pinworms

Following a few simple home remedies is all that it takes to get rid of these annoying parasites. Garlic is considered to be extremely beneficial when it comes to treating pinworms. Take two to three garlic pods and mash them into a thick pulp. Add a teaspoon of organic honey to the mashed garlic and mix the two together. A teaspoon of this mixture should be consumed by the individual two to three times a day on a regular basis, for about a week. Coconut is also recommended as an excellent remedy for treating pinworms. Have a tablespoon of freshly grated coconut for breakfast. Three hours later, this will have to be followed by a teaspoon of castor oil. This treatment if performed for two to three days at a stretch will help in getting rid of the worms. Squash a few garlic pods so as to extract their juice. Add about 10-12 drops of the freshly squeezed juice to half a glass of warm milk. This mixture should be consumed two-three times a day for a week.

Grate a small carrot and then extract the juice. Mix the juice with a tablespoon of honey. A tablespoon of this mixture should be had twice a day, once before breakfast and once before bed. Individuals that are suffering from pin worms need to consume a high-fiber diet. Increasing the quantity of vegetables and grain in one’s daily diet will also help in getting rid of the worms. Hygiene also plays a very important role when it comes to pinworms. It is crucial to keep the anal area clean at all times. Use a wet tissue to wipe the area after every bowel movement. Keep your finger-nails trimmed and short, as long nails serve as an ideal location for the worms’ eggs.
